Week 1

To continue the awesome habit of daily drawing I did in October with #inktober I’ll draw one ink drawing a day in November about character strengths.

I’ll pick an animal that best represent the strength and draw it to do something that humans with that top strength could be doing.

These are first posted on my other website which is in Finnish and called Tarinatädin värityskuvat (Storyteller Auntie’s Coloring Pictures). Tarinatäti is about inspiring children into storytelling and teamwork through making each individual in a group to be seen and heard. (Meaning I create coloring pictures for groups of children based on their ideas) I have met already over 700 children and loved every idea!

CURIOSITY

This curious little piggy leaves no rock unturned, it will go on until it’s satisfied. And oh boy does it like variety of choice – Piggy likes to try out everything! Curiosity also drives it to ask questions after questions and because it has these twinkly little eyes also answers are found in plenty!

CREATIVITY

There are no limits to creativity when this phoenix paints its feathers once again. What do you think it’ll look like this time? Burning yellowish orange or deep blue like starry sky? Imagination drives the phoenix and makes it reborn again and again because its imagination just goes on and on. From the depth of imagination springs new ideas like fresh water from a mountain spring.

LOVE OF LEARNING

“How, how, how can this be so?” asks this owl filled with wonder.. It gathers one book after another near and deepens its knowledge until the morning hours. Lucky bird as owls stay up all night and those hours are so wonderfully good for peaceful studying!

Are you hungry for finding out more about the things you are passionate about?

JUDGMENT

This Siberian flying squirrel never lands on its tummy on the snow again because it has evaluated all the things that affected its glide that one tummy hurting time. And not only has it searched for evidence why its own calculations were wrong but also focused to see the viewpoints from others too. Gliding is effortless for it now as its judgment is clear!

Are you willing to consider all the aspects of situations and judge it based on them even if deep down you disagree?

PERSPECTIVE

Eagle soars high in the sky and sees so very far with its accurate sight. Therefore its friends come over for advice – Talking with the eagle always brings forth new insights and perspective and everything seems so much clearer afterwards!

Do you tend to widen your perspective and give good advice?

BRAVERY

There once was a mighty polar bear! Always defending the weak and the small. It gave amazing speeches to huge audiences (like the grizzlies in the picture). I was lucky to know this polar bear as its example made me feel braver too!

Do you sow the seeds of bravery wherever you go?

LEARN TO FLY

“When you find your strengths and begin to use them it’s like you learned to fly!” elephant explains its experiences. All work and tasks become more effortless when you remember to use your strengths and learn to choose your tasks so that you can use them as much as possible.

“Strengths above!” calls the elephant!
