Week 3
I’ll draw one ink drawing a day in November about character strengths.
I’ll pick an animal that best represent the strength and draw it to do something that humans with that top strength could be doing.
These are first posted on my other website which is in Finnish and called Tarinatädin värityskuvat (Storyteller Auntie’s Coloring Pictures). Tarinatäti is about inspiring children into storytelling and teamwork through making each individual in a group to be seen and heard. (Meaning I create coloring pictures for groups of children based on their ideas) I have met already over 700 children and loved every idea!
FAIRNESS
The baby hedgehogs are happy because their mother is so fair to them. Mama takes care that they each get a fair amount of attention, care and raspberries. And it will serve some of it for itself too. Sometimes the babies feel like their mama must have some special talent as it always knows how they feel and what’s going on.
Are you taking care that no one misses out?
LEADERSHIP
Daddy Lion trusts its leadership skills so much that it can guide its puppy into the future. This little lion is going to be the leader of their pack one day! Daddy sets a great example to follow because it’s fair and gentle as a leader and knows their pack well. Everyone in the pack is thriving and enjoying life to the fullest. Everyone feels safe and has their tummies full. They are having a great time!
Are others following your example joyously?
TEAMWORK
This beaver is very happy when it can do everything with its friends. It is of course clear for them that one log is too heavy to carry alone and that you always go in the woods with others, but still the beaver knows it wouldn’t like to do any of that by itself. It is a really precious friend for the other beavers because it’s great at encouraging them and spotting their strengths. It’s interested in their wellbeing in just the right way. Together we are more is their motto!
Do you have more fun when you are with others?
FORGIVENESS
“It feels good to forgive!” these kangaroos think when they hug each other. Luckily one of them has forgiveness as a top strength and it can support its friend to rather letting go than letting the situation go on. They will let go of what happened and continue their shared adventures together as friends!
Are you the first one in line looking for conciliation?
HUMILITY
A mysterious masked mouse won’t reveal who it is when it wanders around in public spaces leaving uplifting notes and encouraging letters for others to find and read. It never signs the notes, only scribbles a heart sign in the upper corner of the envelope and giggles happily because it knows it’s spreading joy and happiness wherever it goes. And best of all is that no one will ever know its true identity.
Do you love to do good deeds behind others’ backs?
PRUDENCE
This little Koala has a big decision to make. It likes to consider everything carefully and so it loves to create lists with pros and cons. If I decide this, what good will come out of it? Not until it has thought this through will it know which ones weigh more in the decision, the pros or the cons. Maybe it will sleep on it too, why hurry?
Do you feel relieved when your decisions aren’t rushed?
FOLLOW YOUR TRACKS
This wolf wants to find out what its strengths are so it follows its tracks way back in its puppyhood. It will sniff out signs of successes and situations where it felt it was doing great. It will examine these memories carefully and finds that there are similarities in the way it handled them. And so it found out many character strengths! Some of them appeared more than others and now the wolf knows that it can always harness these top strengths to use whenever it will face challenges in the future.
